I love them on a buttered toasted roll. I've been purchasing this brand of sardines for several years. I like the flavor and texture. The cans are easy to open. (Some of you might be old enough to remember the key we used to use to open a can of sardines.) And I like that these are sustainable. Our first cat Layla would always follow me from room to room, and if I gave her a little bit she would slam it down. Then last June I decided to experiment with different cans of sardines. I bought four of the 12-packs from three different brands (Season, Beach Cliff, and Wild Planet) in three different sauces (water, mustard, and olive oil). These are by far my favorite of the four different brands/sauces I tried. Bones are soft and skin is fully present meaning a single 4.2 oz can is packed with nutritients, including (among other things) most of th calcium you need in a day, and over half the omega 3s. Flavor is very good, and light olive oil keeps the fish moist and flavorful without making it too heavy. Our family eats a lot of fish and these have become a staple. Nice to have a shelf stable option with great taste and nutrition that’s always there when you need it. Price is fair but could be a little better given you’re buying 12-24 cans at a time. I can use these- but wish they were the easier to open ones I used to buy in Acme store with a paper like opening. These I am now very careful with and have to use a knife to pull the metal tops off.
