Charge Posting SpecialistPhysicians Independent Management Services, Inc. Responsible for performing, under general supervision, a variety of moderately complex to complex tasks related to posting, reconsiderations, and adjustments of all payment types to the billing and collection system. The position requires excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. All tasks must be performed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with policies, and procedures. Knowledge and Skill Requirements Technological proficiency - must be computer technology savvy and proficient in MS Office. Interpersonal skills - relates and collaborates well with teammates Problem solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully and maintains confidentiality. Planning/organizing- prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently. Oral communication- speaks clearly and persuasively. Quality control- demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality. Adaptability- adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. Knowledge - Maintains and basic knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding principles, all applicable laws and regulations including but not limited to HIPAA/Security. Dependability - is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performance. Safety and security - observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. Required Education High-school diploma or GED Relevant work experience a plus College degree a plus EXPERIENCE Prefer minimum of 2 years work experience in a medical insurance environment, preferably with charge posting.
