Thank you What is a ghost NIC?This issue occurs if a network adapter with the same IP address is in the Windows registry but is hidden in the Device Manager (My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager). This hidden adapter is called a ghosted network adapter.
Where can I find NIC information?From your computer, click Start, then Control Panel. Select Network and Internet Connections icon. Select the Network Connections icon. Under LAN or High-Speed Internet category, look for the name of the Ethernet card (Tip: words like Ethernet adapter, Ethernetlink, or LAN adapter may be contained in the card name).
