1. Why it is important for a teacher to be aware of the various development processes the children
undergo in terms of:
a. Physical and Motor development;
Teachers must be aware of their students' motor development. Delays in motor development can affect
on a student's academic performance. Teachers must be aware of a child's physical and motor
development when creating lesson plans. Teachers should either not assign pupils to exercises they are
physically incapable of performing or modify the exercise to make it appropriate for the student. To
affect children's growth, teachers must provide them with enough physical activity. Children, of course,
require a lot of physical exercises, which the instructor must design in rhythmic patterns to help them
regulate their muscles and bodies.
i.Gross Motor Problems can:
Make it difficult for students to participate fully in classroom and playground activities.
Result in poor self-image
Affect aspects of development, learning and behavior.
ii.Fine Motor problems can:
Lead to difficulties with writing skills.
Make letter formation difficult.
Result in students having trouble concentrating on the content of material being written.
Make it difficult for students to write on or between lines.
Make it difficult for students to complete work, take notes.
