Product: 15 r181nr Laptop
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 [64-bit]

Ive been using this laptop for a while and until a few weeks ago it just stopped. Ive connected an external keyboard and mouse that lights up when I connect it but there is no response to the hdmi. I tried windows key+p and FN+F4 and nothing happened.

@DaddiiDannii
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Are you getting an error message on an external monitor such as "no input signal"?
  • Does this monitor work fine with another computer [if available]?
  • Did you try a different monitor with your computer?

Click here://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03504591to know more about connecting a Monitor, Projector, or TV [Windows 10, 8, 7]

  • Note: If the issue persist after performingtroubleshooting steps, that means you need to service the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi, so when I connect my Hdmi to my laptop my tv doesnt pick up anything [No Signal]. Yes this TV works with other devices [such as my game console]. I have tried 3 monitors with my laptop and I came to the conclusion that its the laptop. I have also tried 2 hdmi cords.
