BH Cosmetics, I think, is such an underrated brand. Their products are affordable yet of good quality. They are actually paraben- and cruelty free, which is always a huge plus for me. I own a lot of products from BH Cosmetics – from their brushes, contour powders to their eyeshadow palettes.

I was getting the Raye Raye Palette when I saw that the BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Palette – Universal was on sale and on a buy 1 get 1 promo so I wanted to try it out.

If you want live swatches, then watch the video below: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=68gd2zHK5ck

I got this for $6.11 but the regular price is $10.99. The packaging is made of black plastic with a clear lid, which is convenient because it is easier to see if any of the shades in the palette matches the look that I am going for.

The palette is full of wearable satin-shimmer shades

When I made this purchase, I was more into shimmers but my preferences has moved on to more mattes. I wish that this palette also had matte shades but overall, it’s ok because it was pretty cheap anyway.

The shades are soft and finely milled. They are slightly powdery but nothing too crazy. There’s good color payoff upon the first application but if great pops of shimmer is your thing, I recommend building these up and using a wet brush. Packing the shimmer with fingers is also a good way of applying these shimmers.

BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Palette: Universal [swatch on bare brown skin]
BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Palette: Universal [taken with bright and natural lighting]

Overall, this is a good palette. It will not change lives but for me, who is starting with makeup and eyeshadows, this is a good palette to have. If you already have a lot of eyeshadows, then I don’t recommend getting this one because the shades are muted and there are better ones out in the market. But for someone who is starting to grow their makeup collection and venturing into colors, then this is a good palette to start with – the quality is ok and it is affordable. Just remember to use an eye base when using these shadows because they don’t last long without primer, at least for my oily lids.

For reference, I used the violet-lilac shade from the palette [third shade from the top of the swatches] when I did my Ultra-Violet Makeup because I had no violet shade.

Once I ran out of this palette, I will not be repurchasing it because I want to try other palettes from other brands as well.

I purchased this product online after reading somewhere that the BH Pressed Powder was a dupe for MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. When I tested it out, I discovered that the BH Pressed...

Love the packaging , just like MAC studio fix powder. This doesn't have much coverage but it works well as a setting powder. I do get slightly oily after about 4 hours , but the finish looks nice...

To start I got the lightest shade because someone had written it was perfect for NC20. It is not. Go one darker. So this is over all too light for me. But it ended up working out to even out my...

I bought this powder because I heard it was a dupe for Mac studio fix powder. The powder is finely milled and if your not careful you will get powder every where. The packaging is just like the...

I use this powder every day. I love it! It is finely milled so it doesn't look all cheap and cakey on your face. Plus, it goes for a GREAT price on the BH website!

I purchased this powder after rumours that it rivals MAC Studio Fix powder, which is sadly untrue, however this is still a good powder. It provides light to medium coverage, but unless you...

I use this as a powder foundation instead of as a finishing powder. It gives me really nice light to medium coverage. In between layers of powder, I will use a finishing spray like NYX's matte...

This powder is supposedly designed to be used as a pressed powder over foundation, but, I actually use it as a powder foundation. The best powdner that I had used prior to buying this powder, was...
