Utopia review Reddit

The premiere of the new Utopia remake series made me curious about the original. Many seem to be saying that it's superior. I see that it was cancelled after the second season. Given it's a mystery series, I wondered if it was still considered worth watching even though it never had a proper ending.

Premise: Becky [Ashleigh LaThrop], Ian [Dan Byrd], Samantha [Jessica Rothe], Wilson Wilson [Desmin Borges] and Grant [Javon "Wanna" Walton] are fans of the Utopia comic and discover secret messages within its pages that predict major world events. They then find the comic protagonist, Jessica Hyde [Sasha Lane], is real and together they seek to save the world in this thriller written by Gillian Flynn and based on the British show of the same name.

Trailer

One of the darkest yet exciting shows I've seen on TV. For those who haven't seen it, think "Hannibal" with the color palette of "Pushing Daisies"

Amazon's Utopia - Episode 1 Discussion from utopiatv

If you haven't you need to. It's a British TV show on channel 4. I don't want to give anything away about the story. It's pretty dark.

Here is the opening scene.
