Thanks for starting this thread!

I have no idea if my stats are enough to get me in, but Stony Brook is my #1 choice because of cost and it's proximity to NYC where I live. My undergrad GPA is mediocre, 3.05. But I have a 4.0 in prerequisites with all but 1 finished [not sure if the writing composition can be transferred from my undergrad]. Cumulatively that brings my GPA up to a 3.2. I'm hoping they'll see I've matured as a student since I graduated in 2010. I'm also a clinical hospice volunteer and hoping that experience helps my chances as well. Good luck everyone!

Was waiting for someone to start this, thanks! Stony Brook is the only school I am applying to, so we'll see how it pans out since it sounds very competitive. I have a BA and MA in non-science fields with 3.85-4.00 GPAs, and aside from taking my prereqs, I've been out of school a while. I have direct care and counseling experience with people with disabilities, but nothing purely medical/clinical.

I plan on calling them tomorrow, but is anyone else having trouble uploading their academic history/transcripts in that section of the application? Mine does nothing except read "time elapsed" and the seconds tick by while nothing saves.

For those who have submitted everything - what does your application look like? I have green checks next to everything, no red Xs [some I’m assuming they don’t want something else that I have not provided], but there’s nothing that says “completed”. My app status just says “submitted”. Is that just how it looks?

Hi Everyone:]

Stony is also my #1 choice. I submitted everything, my overall GPA is 3.3 [not sure what it is for only the pre-reqs]. Currently I'm an office coordinator [1.5 years] and was a medical assistant [1.5 years as well] plus some other experience in college volunteering/research in clinical settings. I emailed admissions today and we won't start hearing back until after the application deadline 10/7.

Does anyone know the total cost of the program ? or an estimate?

Thanks !

Hi, from my understanding tuition & fees are close to 7k if you're from NYS and taking 12+ credits. Since ABSN is about 69 credits, I am assuming total cost is about 40k. If you're out of state,  tuition is about double, so I would assume total cost is double too

I am a NY resident so 40k is actually a great price for an ABSN program LOL the other programs I applied to are right around $60k.

I think your including the health insurance on the tuition breakdown, which is not required. It should be a around $25,000.
